merry christmas!

12.23.10

12.24.10

12.25.10

I am so happy that I was able to come home for Christmas, even if it was only a few days. I'm half excited and half dreading going back to Chicago tomorrow. I miss the city, but I don't miss the stress of my job/the stress of finding a new job once I get there. I was just to the point where I was getting comfortable at home, and now I have to go back to my life where I don't eat any meals, let alone home cooked ones. I won't have a puppy to snuggle up to when I get cold at night nor will I get the chance to sleep in a nice big girl bed. Oh well. I'll just have to be content with the fact that I did get to experience this, even if just for a little bit.

christmas spirit

12.18.10

I think I've had enough of the grinchy rich bitches of Oak Street. Good thing I have my tiny (real!) Christmas tree to cheer me up when I get home.

calm through the window while the world woke up

I'm sure you're all sick of seeing pictures from outside my window, but it was so pretty outside this morning that I couldn't help it. My favorite part of my neighborhood is that it's so quiet. When I wake up, all I can hear is the crunching of the snow while someone walks by. When I look out the window and see the downtown skyline, and it's funny to me to see a major city skyline while it's so silent outside. So I guess it is possible to make a city appear quiet.

before and after the storm

12.03.10

12.04.10

It's my first snow in Chicago.
It was delightful to wake up and see a world of white outside my window.
I think it's kind of funny, because I had that same feeling of when I first moved to the city. Like my love for Chicago and adventure was renewed.
The lake will be causing much more snow throughout the day. Perhaps I'll share again later.

elbow patches

12.02.10

Look what I found today! This great mustard sweater, complete with elbow patches. I have a feeling this is going to bore all of you, but I'm damn excited about this. They also had this great party dress that kind of makes me look like a cupcake. I'll probably get that too.
Thanks, Zara!

december

12.01.10

Finally! December! It's getting mighty cold here in Chicago. Crazy to think I only have one month left of my little project. I guess I need to make every day count, right? I feel like I should carry my camera around everywhere I go. Merr.
