My Grandad always said if you work on New Year's Day, then you will prosper for the whole year. I worked the holiday last year, and I suppose it holds some truth. I wasn't exactly rolling in money, but I was able to support myself through the whole year, working minimum wage for four different employers, with gaps of being umemployed, living in an expensive city, and I came out of the year with no debt (I owe it to not having credit cards). I think that's pretty good.

I started out this year by working, I can only hope that I can be as lucky.
